Interested overseas workers for Korea have only until May 14, 2004 to register at the POEA to be incuded in the manpower pool. According to POEA, the registry shall have received an adequate number of applicants by this date who will be scheduled for screening.

Jobseekers should not accept or believe offers of employment in Palau. Palau does not have industries that will require continuous employment of overseas Filipino workers. There is presently a POEA ban on the deployment of household workers to said jobsite.

To date, five human, laboratory-confirmed cases of avian influenza have been reported in Vietnam. All five confirmed cases are deceased. The most recently reported case was found in an 8-year old girl, making it the third child affected by the virus. Vietnam is the only country where human cases have been reported.
