To assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) which are affected from the crisis in the Middle East, the secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Rosalinda Dimapiliz-Baldoz ordered the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA) to immediately extend help to qualified OFWs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) recently issued a set of procedures for the deportation of visitors with expired umrah, hajj or visitor visa. The guideline that was issued is Circular Note No. 91/74/27523/31 and it aims to inform all Consulates in Saudi Arabia about the Royal Amnesty that they are granting for all overstayers.

There are companies that require overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to have their documents authenticated while some are not. Authentication of document is done according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), to attest the genuineness of the signatory in the document and not the document itself and give credence to the official acts of the notary public or certifying officer thereon for use, if and when required, as instrument of evidence in foreign countries.

To send an application to the SRO, one needs to register at the POEA Manpower Registry System. They also have to personally submit required documents at the POEA office in Mandaluyong.
