Two recruitment agencies will be investigated regarding their involvement in the deployment of six (6) Filipina household service workers (HSWs) that were earlier rescued by Malaysian authorities. The immediate investigation is to be done by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) as ordered by the secretary of the Labor Department, Rosalinda Baldoz.

The National Registry of Overseas Absentee Voters or NROAV will update their list by deleting all registered voters who failed to exercise their right to vote in the last two elections. Registered voters who want their names to remain in the list should renew their license on or before January 11, 2013.

The minimum allowable wage (MAW) for household service workers (HSWs) in Hong Kong will have an increase of HKD180. This is a 4.8% percent increase, from HKD3,740 to HKD3,920 and is said to be the biggest in years. Meanwhile the increase for the minimum food allowance is HKD100, from HKD775 to HKD875.
