Identity theft happened when an individual rob someone’s identity by using his or her name, address, bank account, picture, etc. to conduct unlawful activities. The consequence of being a victim of an identity theft is serious because it is your name and reputation at stake. You may find yourself in deep debt, be blacklisted in a foreign country or simply be involved in a scandal or scam you are totally unaware of.

Have you ever received a text message from an unknown number but contains a casual greeting, followed with the information that it is their new roaming number and a reminder to please send future messages to them there? If you happen to do have a loved one abroad, it is easy to assume that the person who sent the message is really the person you have in mind.

Have you encountered certain group of people who do sweet-talking and offer you a very lucrative deal to invest money in a networking company or any business for that matter? Do they promise that the money that you invest will profit or even triple in just a matter of months? Seems too good to be true, right? Beware, for it might be an investment scam.

Owning a house and lot is the ultimate dream of most Filipinos and OFWs who toiled for years abroad usually save their monbey to be able to acquire a property they can call their own. Scammers Knows this too well so aside from bogus investment schemes like FrancSwiss scam, Ponzi Schemes, etc.; a scam that victimized would-be landonwers also exist and this is called Housing Scam.

The term boiler room was used because it is likened to a space/room inside a ship where steam boilers are kept. This room is way too hot and victims of boiler room schemes figuratively experience the same pressure in the presence of overbearing salesmen.
