WorkAbroad.ph yields more applicants than Manila Bulletin
May 31, 2004
WorkAbroad.ph recently visited one of its member agencies, Galaxy Services Inc. (GSI), and came up with a startling revelation - GSI placed at least 3 ads in Manila Bulletin for experienced engineers to work in Libya and none applied, but when they posted the same ad that ran for 2 weeks in WorkAbroad.ph, they netted more than a hundred applicants.
The applicants received from Workabroad.ph are from different technical job vacancies that GSI is trying to fill: NDT Inspector, Equipment Inspector, Rotating Equipment Technician, etc.
Asked why this is so, Ms. Vangie M. Maghinang, Asst. Manager of GSI said, "Applicants with highly technical employment backgrounds use the internet more frequently than skilled workers such as Domestic Helpers or Entertainers. Workabroad.ph, being a Job Portal for Filipinos seeking work overseas is a excellent medium for these types of applicants to congregate in. Our agency mainly sends technically competent workers abroad, so WorkAbroad.ph is a perfect fit for us."
