
Labor Education for EPS-Korea Workers Signed

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was recently signed between Korea Labor Education Institute (KLEI), and the Philippine government agencies, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
One of the provisions stated in the said MOU is the creation and promotion of labor education program for the Employment Permit System (EPS)-
According to POEA Chief, Rosalinda Baldoz said the program would prevent misunderstanding and disagreements between overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the Korean employers.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) recognized the need to start the dissemination of knowledge during the pre-departure training. Cooperation in the fields of information exchange, research, and capacity building are also specified in the MOU.
