POEA Announces New Israeli Visa Guidelines
Mar 23, 2004
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) releases a travel advisory informing Filipinos and prospective overseas Filipino workers of the new rules implemented by the Embassy of Israel on visa issuance.
Citing a communication from the Embassy of Israel, Administrator Rosalinda Baldoz said that effective March 1, 2004, working visa interviews would be done by appointment only. Requests of early releases of visa by applicants and agencies will not be entertained.
In addition to the standard medical requirements set by the Department of Health (DoH), HIV tests, Hepatitis B surface antigen test, anti-HCV (Hepatitis C screening) and specific X-ray to test tuberculosis are now required.
Administrator Baldoz also said that copies of the Employment Contract should always include the page authenticated by the Embassy of the Philippines in Tel-Aviv and every page thereof. Copies of the Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs), now known as e-Receipts, should be clear and readable.
“Applicants for Israel and agencies are encouraged to visit the POEA website for the complete list of guidelines issued by the Embassy of Israel," Administrator Baldoz added.
