According to Lino Severino, Supervising TESD Specialist of the provincial office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) butcher and slaughterhouse workers in
Severino also said that a six weeks training will be given to butchers and slaughterhouse workers after submitting the necessary requirements including the corresponding training package amount of P26,000. The qualified trainee will only pay the amount of P21, 000.00 and the rest will be shouldered by TESDA.

According to statistics given by the Philippine Overseas and Employment Administration (POEA), butchering is not only a male work, among the 54 butchers deployed in 2004, four of this are female. And it rev up to 12 out of 61 butchers deployed in 2005.
