Job Fair on Migrant Workers Day

Eleven years after the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act (Republic Act 8042) was signed into law; the Philippine government continues to provide the much needed support and assistance for all overseas Filipino workers.
This day came to be known as the Migrant Workers Day and commemorated every 7th day of June. As part of this year’s celebration, a local and overseas job fair will be held. This is organized by Francis A. Domingo, area chief of Philippine Overseas Workers Administration (POEA)

In recognition of significant contribution of OFWs to society, Mr. Domingo, government agencies, and other private companies is doing everything they can so more people will benefit from this project in spite of financial constraint.
The event is a collaborative effort of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers' Welfare Administration, (OWWA), PAGIBIG Overseas Program (POP), and the Philippine Health Insurance Administration. The said government agencies will have a one-stop processing area at the fair.
Aside from the job fair, information and welfare assistance center will also be available for families of overseas Filipino workers. Free calls will also be given by telecommunication companies like Smart Communications and Bayantel. Participating Manila-based agencies are as follows: Skills Intl. Co Inc., Intl. Jobs Recruitment Agency, and Ninety-Nine Manpower Services Corp. JUne 7 is truly a day dedicated to all migrant workers.
