Aug 23, 2005
According to DOLE, an employment provider from Kuwait has offered 1,000 household work positions to repatriated Pinoy migrant workers from Sabah and is planning to hire more Filipino Overseas Workers.
Mr. Fadel Mohammed Al Sharaf Ashkanani, chairperson of the Fadel Al Sharaf Manpower Establishment in Kuwait, is also planning to hire more Filipino overseas workers to work in the construction, medical, and airline industries in their country.
DOLE(Department of Labor and Employment) Undersecretary Manuel G. Imson said Pinoy repatriates will be trained for free should they lack certain skills for the positions available. He also corrected the allegations of a lower salary as they “would not like to offer false hopes as and deceive anyone”. Imson added that Ashkanani assured DOLE that “there will be no salary deductions” as recruits will be “provided with an insurance policy issued by a Kuwaiti company, and priority will be given to these workers, and every possible effort made to provide suitable employment opportunities.
Ashkani is now planning to meet with three recruitment agencies in the Philippines that they have worked with for the past fifteen years.
