Step-by-step Guide to Working Abroad

1. Find a job
Methods of finding overseas jobs:
a. Job sites
One of the job sites is WorkAbroad.ph. It focuses on overseas jobs. Job sites are found on the Internet and this is where job openings are posted. All you need to do is click on your desired job opening and apply for it. All with just the click of a mouse.
b. Referrals
Referrals would mostly mean having connections. Sometimes, employers can also look for you because of your outstanding performance in your previous work.
c. Print/TV
Print materials include classified ads in newspapers, posters, leaflets, etc. Some TV stations also advertise their job openings.
Now, you can get work overseas by any of the following:
a. Private Agencies
b. Name Hiring
c. Government
There are hundreds of recruitment agencies here in the Philippines. They help you find an employer and in processing your application. We’ll discuss recruitment agencies in a while. Direct hiring, on the other hand, means the employer himself hired you. No third party is involved in your job application. The government also gives selected individuals jobs abroad. One program is POEA’s Client Referral Assistance or CRA.
