Why OFWs Shouldn't Accept Household Work in China
Apr 2, 2015
The Philippine Embassy in Beijing advised overseas Filipino workers not to accept any job offers for household work in China.
Why? Because China has a law that restricts them from recruiting foreigners to work for them as nannies, household worker or private tutors.
So any job offer that promises such kind of work in China for OFWs should not be entertained as this is a clear manifestation of illegal recruitment and may only result to abuse and/or human trafficking.
Also, OFWs who were promised to be deployed by using a tourist visa is another sign of illegal recruitment.

POEA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac had also warned OFWs to refuse job offers of a work abroad with the use of tourist visa. He told that the right way of having an overseas job is to
apply at a licensed agency, obtain an employment contract and employment visa or work permit. OFWs then have to submit these documents to POEA for processing and issuance of their exit clearance.
