Job opportunities abroad await Filipinos who wish to become overseas workers as various countries are opening its doors for foreign workers. In a report presented by Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) head Hans Leo Cacdac, the following countries and job opportunities are open for aspiring Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) this year:
MIDDLE EAST
Saudi Arabia and UAE need workers for their hotel and tourism, construction and energy and healthcare sectors. Semi-skilled workers such as welders, pipe fitters and wiremen, and skilled professionals such as civil engineers, mechanical engineers and architects are sought after for jobs in top companies in Saudi Arabia.
Qatar may hire one million workers for construction, hotel and healthcare jobs as they are set to host the World Cup in 2022.
Israel will open its doors to Filipino caregivers.
Iraq needs 7,000 nurses.
ASIA and the PACIFIC
Japan, China, Vietnam and Indonesia can become top OFW destinations this year as opportunities to work as teachers, IT specialists, designers, architects, engineers and entertainers are listed as the most sought-after jobs in these countries.
Macau needs more workers in the construction, tourism and healthcare sectors.
South Korea needs factory workers.
Australia and New Zealand open more job opportunities in the field of agriculture and forestry, education, engineering, finance, trade and transportation, tourism, and health and social services.
