How OFWs Can Renew Their PRC License
Jan 15, 2014
At present, many Filipino professionals working abroad who have a PRC license and want it to be renewed in their host country are yet to be able to do so. What an OFW can do to be able to renew his or her PRC ID is to ask a relative or friend living in the Philippines to do the processing/renewal of ID in the Philippines on his/her behalf. The OFW must make sure though, that he/she will issue the friend or relative a letter authorizing that person to process and claim the PRC ID in the OFW's behalf.
The authorized representative must have the following upon going to the PRC main office or PRC regional office
- Completely Filled-out Renewal Form from the Registration Division of PRC
-
authorization from the OFW to renew his/her license in his/her behalf
-
valid identification of the authorized representative
-
one passport size picture of the OFW with nametag and in white background
-
corresponding fees for the renewal
When renewing in PRC main office or any PRC regional office, the authorized representative must follow these steps:
-
The duly authorized representative must secure and accomplish a renewal form from the Registration Division and submit one (1) passport size picture with nametag and in white background.
- The duly authorized representative pays to cashier the renewal fee upon securing a printed renewal application. The schedule for claiming the PRC license/ID is printed on the lower portion of the printed form.
- On the scheduled date, the duly authorized representative must present the claim stub to the Registration Division. He/she shall also present the Official Receipt showing payment of the renewal fee and sign an acknowledgment of receipt of the PRC license/ID . The representative must also present together with the official receipt a *letter of authority or **Special Power of Attorney from the professional (OFW).
A certificate of membership or certificate of good standing from the professional's respective Accredited Professional Organization (APO) may also be requested, especially for the following professions:
-
Agricultural Engineers
-
Architects
-
Customs Brokers
-
Electrical Engineers
