Undocumented Filipino workers are given a two-month extension to fix their work status in Saudi Arabia, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Vice president Jejomar Binay encouraged undocumented OFWs in Saudi Arabia to legalize their stay in Saudi or choose to go home in the Philippines via final exit visas.
According to the Labor Ministry in Saudi Arabia, 157,694 Filipinos were able to legalize their work status in Saudi last year while 38,939 OFWs left Saudi Arabia.
The DFA said that repartriation efforts for Filipinos in Saudi are still on-going, and the two-month grace period will end on March 1.
