Philippine Government Prepared to Assist OFWs in Thailand Amidst Anti-Gov't Protests

The Philippine government assured that should there be events that may threat Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Thailand during the ongoing anti-government protests, they are prepared to rescue and assist our kababayans.
In a statement from Malacañang communicated by Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., the Philippine Embassy in Thailand and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) were sent guidelines to escalate alert levels in case protest violence rapidly increase.
Coloma said that the Aquino administration continues to monitor the situation in Thailand as the anti-government protests is now on its eight day. He added that no report has yet reached them to initiate drastic measures about the situation.
