Libreng Tawag Stations set up for Yolanda Victims and Relatives Overseas
Nov 19, 2013
The Overseas Workers Welfare Organization (OWWA) installed phone facilities for Overseas Filipino Workers who wish to hear from their relatives affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
The “Libreng Tawag Stations”, which is supported by mobile communications giant Globe Telecom, are set up in OWWA offices in areas such as Tacloban City and Ilo-Ilo City. Another Libreng Tawag station will be established soon in Ormoc, Leyte.
Meanwhile in Pasay City, the OWWA has fortified their 24/7 Operations Center that receives calls from OFWs and families, and established an "OWWA Ugnayan Center" at the ground floor of their office building to assist more families and accommodate more queries regarding relatives' (severely-hit by the calamity) whereabouts.
