The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has filed recruitment violation cases against Aim High International Placement and Kuwaiti employer Tanzifco Co. WLL after receiving complaints from 17 overseas Filipino workers who allegedly claims that they were maltreated.
Thus, POEA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac has ordered suspension of Aim High and Tranzfico to recruit and deploy workers abroad citing that they hold strong evidence against the two companies.
According to the affidavit filed by the complainants, they paid Php50,000 to Php54,000 for their placement fees which is not equivalent to the salary offered by the employer. Also, they are only receiving 80 dinars (Php11,000+) instead of 120 dinars (Php13,000+) stated on their contracts. POEA reminds applicants that placement fee should be equivalent to one month salary only.
The complainants added that their employers do not issue pay slips and that they were asked to work 12-16 hours a day without an overtime pay. They added that their employers also failed to give them a decent sleeping quarters and kitchen facilities.
Aside from the mentioned complaints, Cacdad added that these OFWs were assigned in hospitals exposed to health hazards without being given vaccination or immunization shots.
