DOLE Provides Schedule of Job Fairs for NCR this 2013
Jan 8, 2013
The secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Rosalinda Baldoz offer an advice to jobseekers who wish to find a job this year and that is by attending the job fairs that their agency would conduct in Metro Manila. In an article that appeared in the DOLE’s official website, Baldoz announced that there would be 106 job fairs in Metro Manila.
She said, "The DOLE-NCR has already firmed up an initial 106 job fairs this year."
This announcement shows that Baldoz is keeping the promise she made when she was appointed as Labor Secretary in mid-2010. She vowed that their agency would announce the schedule of their job fairs early to inform more jobseekers and to allow those who wish to attend to prepare in advance.
Baldoz added, "This is only an initial schedule. There will be many more job fairs, especially in the regions, for our job seekers this 2013."
In 2012, the DOLE organized 1,553 job fairs all over the Philippines. For this year, Baldoz said that their minimum target is to double this number. The Secretary already instructed the regional directors of DOLE to schedule their job fairs and announced it to the public.
Here is the list of DOLE-NCRs job fair schedules for 2013

According to Baldoz, of the 106 job fairs that are listed above, there are only 12 that would offer overseas job opportunities. The rest of the career fairs would feature local companies and their job vacancies. She said that this means that more local jobs are available for local jobseekers.
She said, "One of the advantages of visiting a DOLE job fair is that a job seeker spends less money and less timer and minimal effort to find a job because DOLE gathers as many employers as possible --whether local or overseas--under one roof. The DOLE also ensures that its government partners bring in to the job fair their services, such as the birth certificate issuance services of the National Statistics Office; the clearance certificate issuance services of the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police; the social security benefits programs of the Social Security System; and the passport issuance services of the Department of Foreign Affairs."
