PHL Lifts Deployment Ban to Israel
Dec 16, 2012
Filipinos can now work in Israel as the Philippine government decided to lift the deployment ban. The decision was made after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that the ceasefire between Israeli forces and Hamas, the Palestinian militant group improved the security situation.
The DFA advisory said, “The DFA Travel Advisory issued on November 23, 2012, which advised Filipinos to defer travel to Gaza and central and southern Israel in view of the Israel-Hamas conflict, is now lifted.”
The alert levels in central and southern Israel and in Gaza were also lifted. The central and southern Israel was earlier in alert level 2 which call for restriction phase. The city of Gaza used to be in alert 4 which calls for mandatory evacuation.
There are more than 40,000 Filipinos working in Israel and most of them are employed as caregivers.
