Beware of These Blacklisted Balikbayan Box Forwarders

Filipinos abroad who are looking for a cargo forwarder to deliver their balikbayan boxes to their loved ones back home should make sure that they are dealing with a reputable company.
The Department of Trade and Industry released an updated list of accredited cargo or balikbayan box forwarders and add up some names in the blacklist because of complaints of undelivered balikbayan boxes. Twelve companies are added in the blacklist, and most of them are local cargo shippers that has foreign principals from the Middle East.
As of November 8, 2013, five balikbayan box forwarders, which are still accredited by the DTI, yet are issued show cause orders by the department; while seven more are recommended to the Department of Justice to be criminally prosecuted.
The following is the list of foreign consolidators and cargo forwarders that were unaccredited/blacklisted/ under watchlist and were issued formal charges by DTI.
