POEA Warns About Fake UNICEF Job Offers

Filipinos who are looking for viable employment opportunities abroad are one of the prime targets of unscrupulous individuals and an easy way for a scammer to contact them is thru email.
It is therefore not surprising that email job scams abound. Just recently, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) exposed a new scam that involves fake job offers from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). This fake job offer requires one to undergo training for a fee.
According to POEA Chief, Hans Leo J. Cacdac, the UNICEF Manila office notified them about this new scam and denied that the email comes from them.

The UNICEF said that they are “aware of fictitious employment offers being circulated via email or originating from online job boards. Many of these schemes consist of an alleged offer of employment or contract with UNICEF in return for the payment of fees or providing personal or banking information.”
