Beware of Fake Job Offer in Sydney Adventist Hospital
Jul 31, 2012
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) warns the public most specifically Filipino nurses and other medical practitioners regarding an e-mail scam containing supposed employment in a hospital in Australia.
The scam email supposedly coming from Sydney Adventist Hospital charging a fee of Php3,750.00 for a two-day British English Training. The email sender promised the applicants a job with No Placement Fee, No Processing Fee, No Salary Deduction, No Show Money, No Experience Required, Free Accommodation and Food Allowance which is too good to be true.
Sydney Adventist Hospital located in New South Wales, Australia was informed about the email scam and has since denied having a part of it. The hospital posted a statement on their official website denying advertisements, emails or other notices encouraging staff in the Philippines to submit applications for training employment.
“The information about Sidney Adventist Hospital recruitment is not accurate and we have not organized training courses and hospital representatives will not be in the Philippines on July 21 and 22 to employ people,” SAH said.
“The training program referred to as the Sydney Adventist British English Training is not associated with Sidney Adventist Hospital. These notices have been issued without our knowledge or approval. Relevant authorities have been advised that these notices are inaccurate and are investigating who has issued them. Please do not pay any fees for the advertised training in the hope of gaining employment here,” the added.
Hans Leo Cacdac, POEA administrator said that Filipino nurses who wished to apply in Australia must obtain Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (APHRA) first for application.
Applicants are advised to be alert and not believe easily in job offers sent through email. If in case a jobseeker received a suspicious email, forward it at info@poea.gov.ph for investigation by the POEA.
