Prometric is a testing and assessment provider that operates test centers in more than 160 countries. The Prometric for nurses is said to be in a lot of ways similar to the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE).
The Prometric Exam for Nurses
In the Prometric Exam for nurses, examinees are given two hours to finish 70 questions in multiple-choice formats. It is a computer-based test and the result of the examination is available immediately after the exam.
For nursing technicians, the passing rate is 45% while for nurse specialists it is 50%. The exam for nursing aides is comprised of the following parts:
Nursing Fundamentals: 28%
Medical – 23%
Surgical – 20%
Pediatric – 16%
Community – 13%
While the exam for nurse specialist is composed of:
Assessment – 10%
Nursing Problem – 6%
Planning – 20%
Implementation – 50%
Evaluation – 14%
To schedule a prometric exam one needs to go to http://www.prometric.com. The program to choose is Academic, Professional Licensure & Certification, Government, and Corporate.
Then choose the test provider, in this case the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties-KSA. For Nurses, the type of exam to select should either be Nurse Technician or Nurse Specialist.
