DOLE: 100,000 Jobs Up For Grabs at Labor Day Job Fair

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is inviting all jobseekers to attend the DOLE’s Job and Livelihood fair on May 1 at World Trade Center, Pasay City. This yearly event to commemorate Labor Day will also be held in other provinces through DOLE regional offices.
Over 100,000 local and overseas jobs will be offered by some 300 employers. DOLE have invited 200 participating local companies in the business process outsourcing (BPO), tourism banking and finance, hotel and restaurant, health and wellness, and construction sectors.
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz added that Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has lined up 100 licensed recruitment agencies, 75 of them are land based and 25 sea-based agencies.
Overseas Filipino Workers, their families or people who wants to earn extra incme were also encouraged to pay a visit.
As to the livelihood component of the event, the labor and employment chief announced that there will be a livelihood counseling; product display and sales; franchising exhibits; video presentation of successful entrepreneurial, skills training, and job generation stories; and livelihood skills demonstration. The DOLE agencies taking the lead in the livelihood component of the event are the BWSC, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
Other government agencies supporting the big event are the National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Statistics Office, Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth.
