The POEA has issued an advisory informing the public that there are no job orders for nurses and caregivers for Japan as of date. The Philippines and Japan are yet to sign the formal trade agreement.

Japan and the Philippines have agreed in principle to drop tariffs on a range of goods traded between the two countries. It includes easing the regulation on the entry of Filipino nurses and caregivers.

Filipino nurses and caregivers will be required to complete Japanese language training and pass the nursing board exams to qualify. The agreement is expected to be finalized by the middle of next year.
