The Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) is inviting overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who successfully finished a work contract under the Employment Permit to join an essay writing contest.

Information about the essay writing contest is posted on the official website of POEA and it states that cash prizes are at stake. The first and second placers will also be given a chance to be a lecture in the returnee program.

All the migrant workers from the 14 different countries that send workers thru the EPS-Korea can join the essay writing contest. An exception though is East Timor because they have no returning workers.   

They are looking for essay entries from successful returning EPS workers; those who were able to find a new job or opened a business after finishing a work contract in Korea.

Essay Topics:

• Launching a business successfully after returning to the home country
• Finding gainful employment after coming home
• Tips on how to adjust in Korea or how to make returning to one’s country a positive prospect

Those who want to participate in this easy writing contest can submit their entries on or before August 15, 2o11 at the EPS Center. The announcement of winners will be done in September and there will be an awarding ceremony in October.
