Mining Firms Offer 392 Jobs for Repatriated OFWs from Libya
Mar 11, 2011
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced 392 job vacancies available in mining companies for repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers from Libya.
The announcement was made by DOLE secretary Rosalinda Baldoz in a forum conducted by the Mining Industry Tripartite Council. She addressed that the job vacancies being offered by top local mining companies are initially available for repatriated OFWs from Libya.
“These jobs are now posted online in the Phil-Jobnet, the government’s official job matching and jobs search portal,” Baldoz said after the conclusion of the Mining Industry Tripartite Council Forum.
Baldoz has expressed gratitude towards Mining ITC for their support for the DOLE’s facilitation program.
“This is an example of public-private partnership at work. The Mining ITC’s Voluntary Code of Good Practices is full operative. What is significant is that the Code works as we have envisioned and at a time of crisis at that,” said Baldoz.
On the other hand, DOLE-CARAGA regional director Ofelio Domingo said, “Job solicitation, referral, and placement are part of the DOLE’s reintegration program for OFWs returning to the Philippines.”
