Before working abroad, Jonath Aquino Aliman is a young teacher from Cotabato City who is having a hard time in his work because his salary is not enough to meet his own needs as well as support his parents.

That is why on July 17, 2010, Jonath went to Manila from Mindanao to find an overseas job. He doesn’t want to waste any time so just a day after arriving, he went to Ermita, Manila where most of the agencies are located to submit an application.

He went from one agency to another to submit his resume and that is when he noticed that the process of overseas job hunting can be so expensive. Each day, he has to pay for resume printing, photocopying documents, pictures etc. He also needs to allot a budget for transportation and foods while waiting for an interview notice.

He also finds it tiring to fill up application forms of different agencies. He would do this everyday and he got so stressed out because days would go by but the possibility of getting a job remains bleak. He failed to find an agency whose job opening matched his qualifications.

When he was near out of budget, he chatted with his parents and while chatting he saw a website– WorkAbroad.ph. He browsed through the site and then he created an online resume.  It was a wise decision because only 3 days will pass before agencies would start calling him for an interview schedule.

From that time on, he stopped going to agencies to apply for a job. He would just wait for a call from the agency and then would go to the interview schedule. Luckily he passed an interview scheduled by Aram Enterprises last July 27 and got employed right away!

Jonath is currently working as a Secretary in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and he truly enjoys his current job. He is glad with the fact that he is working with a globally competitive environment and earning good salary.
