New DFA Building Now Open: Applicants Need To Set an Appointment
Mar 17, 2010
The new Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) building located near Mall of Asia officially opened to the public last March 8. Along with the promise that the new facility would make their service more efficient is the reminder that the DFA would only process application strictly by appointment. It means that applicants need to set an appointment and get a schedule before proceeding to the new building and that no walk-in applicants will be entertained.
The appointment system is enforced to make the process of passport application faster and easier both for the agency and the public. The Office of Consular Affairs Assistant Secretarty Renato Villapando said, “This appointment system will be strictly implemented to enable the DFA to re-process information submitted in advance by an applicant, avoiding long queues, as experienced by walk in applicants at the DFA-OCA main office on Roxas Boulevard.”
To set an appointment, applicants can visit www.passport.com.ph or call 737-1000 Travel agencies can go to the DFA website at www.dfa.gov.ph or send an email at: scheduler@dfa-appointment.net. For more inquiries, they can also call at the following numbers: (02)834-4691, (02)834-4855 and (02) 8343707.
There is no need for applicants to bring pictures because their picture will be taken at the new passport data capturing machine of DFA. However applicants need to fill up an application form that can be downloaded at the DFA website and bring it on their scheduled date of application.
