POEA to OFWs: Use BM Online Appointment System
May 18, 2016
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration or POEA advise vacationing overseas Filipino workers that processing of Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), commonly known as exit clearance, will strictly be based on an online appointment starting June 01, 2016. POEA also encourages Balik Manggagawa (BM) to use the BM Online System for straight online OEC processing.
The e-appoint system is a built-in component of the existing BM Online Processing System that caters to those who cannot proceed to the straight online processing of OEC for any of the following reasons: No POEA record/no record found/discrepancy in any record Undocumented worker (i.e. status is from tourist to OFW or dependent to OFW or student to OFW, etc.) Change employer and/or jobsite
Worker or employer is under watchlist
OFW is returning to restricted or non-compliant country
OFW is a former seabased worker
POEA also said that in case straight online is not possible for the reasons stated above or other related concerns, the vacationing worker may set an online appointment at the convenience of their homes before coming to POEA for the processing of their OEC at their preferred date, time and location.
The BM Online Appointment System can be accessed through the direct link www.bmonline.ph or through the POEA website at www.poea.gov.ph.
