OFWs: Pay Your PhilHealth Contributions Before Leaving to Work Abroad

Overseas Filipino Workers, both re-hired and vacationing, were reminded to pay for their PhilHealth premiums before leaving the country to work abroad.
This was advised by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth after the announcement made by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) that they will be implementing a single collection policy for OEC.
Before, POEA collect fees for PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG in addition to the payment for Overseas Employment Certificates or OEC’s secured by OFWs.
OFWs are to pay the amount of P2, 400 annually for their PhilHealth premium contributions for them and their legal dependents social health insurance coverage.
OFWs can pay for their PhilHealth before obtaining their OECs at the following locations:
- designated PhilHealth counters at Balik-Manggagawa Centers at POEA main office
- 27 accredited PhilHealth collecting partners
- local PhilHealth insurance offices nationwide
