How to Apply for Multiple-Entry Visa to Japan

To boost its tourism industry and to further strengthen its economic ties to the Philippines, the government of Japan eases their visa application rules by allowing multiple-entry visas for Filipino citizens who wish to visit their country for a short term stay. This visa would be available starting July 1 and applicants would need to comply with the following requirements and procedures:
Who is eligible?
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan, Filipinos with an ordinary Machine-Readable passport (MRP), which meets International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards or an ordinary IC passport may get a multiple entry visa.
Application Procedures and Requirements
1. Make a plan to travel Japan.
Prepare the requirements:
Duly accomplished visa application form
It is available for download in the Japan Embassy website and at the entrance of the embassy.
Philippine Passport
Broken lamination of the photo part is not accepted
Must have at least two (2) blank pages
Photo
Specs: 4.5cm x 4.5cm with white background
Photo must be pasted on the application form.

Letter of guarantee
Other necessary documents
3. Apply at the Japanese Embassy/Consulate with the jurisdiction.
4. The application is examined in the Embassy or Consulate. If necessary, you may be contacted by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General and may be asked to attend an interview or submit additional documents.
5. After completion of the examination, the applicant will then be informed if a visa will be issued or not.
If a visa is issued, the applicant should travel to Japan within 3 months. The multiple-entry visa would allow a 15-day stay in Japan and is valid for three years.
